Planning a summer getaway? Make sure your hair looks amazing throughout your entire vacation with these two simple and quick hairstyles!
It's pretty safe to assume that most gals don't want to spend hours on their hair while on vacation. Why stay inside holding a blow-dryer or perfecting coils when you could be relaxing with your family and friends? We get it. That said, you still want your hair to look its best, whether you're lounging out by the pool or touring a new city. Luckily, you don't have to sacrifice a gorgeous 'do for some fun in the sun. We're sharing two quick, easy, and vacation-approved hairstyles to try during your next trip.
When the weather warms up, many like to beat the heat with an updo. But if you spent a lot of time and effort growing out your mane, chances are you want to show it off even when the temperatures rise. The perfect middle ground? A half-up, half-down hairstyle. This look pulls the face-framing layers away from the face, helping to draw attention to the sun-kissed glow of your skin. Half-up hair is also incredibly versatile. You can pair it with curls, slick back the crown for a sleeker look, or wear it pin straight. You can even tie the upper portion into a knot for a preppier look. "The half bun can work for anybody with a long bob or longer hair," says New York City stylist and L'Oréal Professionnel artist Amit Abraham. "You'd be surprised how many people can pull it off."
The ponytail is a classic hairstyle available in a multitude of variations. There are high ponytails, low ponytails, sleek ponytails, messy ponytails, and more. Choose the ponytail that best suits your style and personality. (Don't know which pony is right for you? Let us help you find your ponytail personality, here.) Whichever ponytail you choose, we recommend adding some extra oomph to your hair with a volumizing mousse before styling. For a messier look, use your hands to pull back your hair into a ponytail. For a chicer, more polished look, use a brush to smooth out any bumps in your ponytail as you secure it in place.
