Which sleek style is right for you?
This season, hair experts are gushing over sleek and glossy hairstyles. Needless to say, we're taking cues from the pros and incorporating these styles into our repertoire-and you should too! Below, we're sharing two gorgeous looks that are easy to achieve with the help of L'Oréal Professionnel's Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil.
Perfect for showing off chiseled cheekbones and a flawless neckline, the high ponytail is favored amongst celebrities and hairstylists alike. "It creates a very strong, feminine shape," says L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Amit Abraham. "It actually accentuates feminine facial features." Plus, it's easy to add a bit more depth and texture to your high ponytail by playing with different coloring trends and techniques. "If you have an ombré and are looking for an alternative way to show that off, a high ponytail is great," Abraham says.
Whether you're attending a professional business meeting or hitting the town with your friends, the high ponytail is a hairstyle you should consider. Start by brushing all of your hair back and securing it high and centered at the back of the crown with a clear elastic. (For a colorful twist, use a bright-hued elastic that doesn't pull too hard at your strands.) You'll want to make sure to smooth out any bumps along the way to ensure a polished look. As a last step, rub a few drops of Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil through your palms and gently rub it across the top of your head and lengths to smooth frizz and enhance shine.
Red carpet waves
Cascading waves with serious shine power have taken red carpets by storm, and it's easy to understand why. The coiffed 'do not only looks effortlessly chic and radiant against the flashing camera lights, but can also be worn day to night.
Whether you're gracing a red carpet or simply attending an event that calls for perfect, high-shine hair for hours, these sleek and sophisticated waves are calling your name. To get the look at home, start by applying a few drops of Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil down the lengths of your hair before blow-drying. This can help nourish strands for radiant shine and manageability, not to mention tame unwanted frizz and flyaways as a result of humidity. After blow-drying your hair, select your curling tool of choice. For rounder, fuller waves, L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Pepper Pastor recommends using a curling iron. "With flat iron waves you still get the fullness, but the waves will be elongated," she explains. Start by wrapping sections of hair away from the face and around the barrel. Once your entire head of hair is curled and cooled, use your fingers or a soft-bristle brush to gently separate the curls into waves. Finish off with a light-hold hairspray. Voila-you're ready for your close-up!
Top tip: There's more than one way to achieve red carpet waves. If you're a pro, you can opt to use a blow-dryer and round brush to create the silky waves without using a curling iron. If you're prepping for a big event, consider visiting the salon to let the pros tackle the style.
