Which bang is best?
Bobs are undoubtedly one of the most classic-and versatile-styles around. Worn straight, wavy, or curly, bobs look equally as chic and complementary on everyone. And, one of our favorite ways to rock a timeless bob is by adding bangs. Bangs instantly add a youthful, modern touch to a such a timeless style. But, does the bob with bangs look best curly or straight? We'll let you decide.
Curly Bob with Bangs
Curls add an instant bounce to a bob and bangs just accentuate the whimsical, carefree vibe of the cut. New York City Stylist and L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Amit Abraham says that a curly or wavy bob with bangs is perfect for gals with narrow faces or chins who want to add width with their hairstyle. The key here is the cut. Let your hairdresser know that you intend to wear both your bob and your bangs with a natural bend and she will cut your locks to fall just right. The major enemy here is frizz. Keep your curls bouncy with a little volumizing mousse or hair oils and never, ever spray it with hair spray. "It will totally lose its bounce and movement and make the style look way too dated," Abraham says.
Straight Bob with Bangs
Perhaps the more classic of the two styles, a straight bob with bangs is a great way to add depth and the illusion of length to a bob cut. It complements every face shape which adds to its tremendous versatility! As New York City stylist and L'Oréal Professionnel Ambassador Drew Schaefering says, bangs on a straight bob help to highlight your facial features, so if you want to draw attention to high cheekbones or big, beautiful eyes consider this cut. To style, use a bit of texturizing spray on the ends which will give the look a little bulk and help to strengthen its silhouette. Blow dry the bangs first because as long as they're in place, the rest of the look will follow!
