Running late to a morning meeting? Primping for a last-minute date? We get it: spending hours in front of a mirror perfecting an intricate hairstyle is not always a feasible option. But being tired, lazy, or just short on time is no excuse for a bad hairdo! There are plenty of fuss-free styles out there that are not only chic, but can also be achieved in mere minutes. Lucky for you, we've rounded up a few of our favorites, below. Whether you like to wear your hair up or down, read on to discover three quick and easy hairstyles that will get you out the door just in time for whatever your day has in store!
Not a morning person? This stylish updo will be your saving grace. Aside from being super easy to achieve, it can be paired with both casual and formal outfits. Start by spritzing a small amount of texturizing spray at the roots to help add volume and give your hair some grip. For a messy topknot, use your fingers to pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure it at the crown. For a more polished topknot, use a brush to smooth out any unwanted bumps before tying your hair into a high ponytail. To make your knot, separate your ponytail into two sections. Next, twist the sections together and wrap the twisted ponytail around the base of your elastic. Secure your knot with bobby pins. Finish off with a light mist of hairspray to keep flyaways at bay.
Lived-in hair is the ultimate low-maintenance style because it's meant to look a little disheveled and can be stretched out for a few days. To achieve lived-in waves, take 1 to 2-inch sections of hair and alternate between curling towards and then away from the face with each section. (P.S.-when it comes to the face-framing sections of hair, always curl them away from the face.) After your hair is curled and cooled, brush through the curls with your fingers. To play up the lived-in look even further, spritz a bit of texturizing spray onto your strands and scrunch with your hands.
A quick way to add extra flair to your hair? Throw on a headband! Whether you're rocking cascading curls or a low ponytail, a headband is a great tool to accessorize your style with. What's more, if you don't have the time to style your bangs, you can hide them underneath a bedazzled headband and the public will be none the wiser. To get your headband to stay put, L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Pepper Pastor recommends using a product with some grip before you style. "Using a product first gives the headband a little bit of something to hold on to," she explains. Try a styling mousse or dry shampoo at the roots before styling, followed by a spritz of hairspray to tame flyaways.
